環境

（1）玉川上水路とそれから分水されている用水路は過去において水による多大な恩恵を武蔵野台にもたらしてきた。
（２）しかし、昭和３０年代からはじまる急激な都市化の波によって水路システムの成立条件は分断されていった。
（3）用水路の歴史的意義を環境面で継承ナることに加え、過去において果してきた広域自然流通システムとその技術の再評価のためのケース・スタディの視点をもち、分水路の現地調査を実施し、その特性をあきらかにし、再生への方途をさぐる基礎的研究である。

(1) In the past, Tamagawa Josui channel and its branch channels were extremely beneficial for people in Musashino Plateau.

(2) However, conditions necessary to secure these channel systems were destroyed due to rapid urbanization that started in around 1955.

(3) The purposes of this study were: to hand over channels to next generations through the understanding of the historical and environmental significance of the channels; reevaluate the function of the channels as broad and natural transportation systems and relevant techniques; to carry out field surveys for branch channels to understand their characteristics; and to pave the way for the preservation of the channels.
