研究内容要約 Research Summary |
多摩川河川敷に定めた定点においては、 土壌から採集されるユスリカ幼虫はSmittia aterrima(Meigen)だけであった。 本種は11月ごろから翌年3月ごろまで、周期的に大量羽化発生している。 We studied chironomid larvae in soil sampled at collection sites selected in the Tama River beds. As a result, it was only Smittia aterrima (Meigen) that was found in the soil. This species infests regularly from November to next March. Male chironomids swarm in the daytime when there is no wind, and females fly into a swarm to mate with males. They fly down, and stay on the grass for about four minutes before they separate. A male chironomid can be microscopically identified based on the following characteristics: Adult: it is about 2.5 mm in length; its color is dark brown; antennas have a strong bristle on the tip; its vein Cu1 bends sharply in the middle; costa extends to vein R4+5; and squama has no hair. Larvae: it is about 4 mm in length at final larval stage; its color is reddish brown; and it has neither ventral tubules nor lateral tubules. It is necessary to continuously investigate terrestrial chironomids at other spots in the Tama River beds. |
