数年前、スラ了ド集『多摩川の流れ』をわずかな仲間達と共に作った。一緒に多摩川の河口から源流までを歩きその姿の一部を見てきた。
そして私達はその姿の雄大さに驚き、明日への力を与えられたのだ。それは又理科の学習を進める上で、この経験とスライド集は役立って来た。
それ以後、私達は、写真の内容にも倹討を加えた。ただ単なるスライドの説明だけでは授業を進める上でも不便さを感じて来た。地形図等の資料も併せて必要性を感じてきた。授業に実際に使える資料集をこに刊行を試みた。

Several years ago, my friends and I created a collection of slides named “The Flow of the Tama River ”. For the survey, we walked along the River all the way from the estuary to the riverhead.

We were awestruck at the magnificence of the River, which gave us energy for tomorrow. This experience, in addition to the slides, has been very helpful for science class.

We revised the slides when needed, because it was felt that slides themselves were not sufficient for the class: for example, we thought that topographical maps would be of great help. Here we would like to introduce these slides as educational material that can be practically used for science classes.
