申請者は、2000年及び2010年に行った、市民による「西暦2000年の多摩川を記録する運動」（財団法人とうきゅう環境浄化財団　一般助成､2000年，2010年）の実施以降、多摩川の映像資料、文献等の収集を行ってきた。また、収集した古写真等については、デジタル化の作業（財団法人とうきゅう環境浄化財団　一般助成2011年）を行った。そうした実績が周知されるようになり、近年さらに、多摩川関係の古資料が寄贈されるようになったため、現在、東京都、国土交通省京浜河川事務所、流域の住民団体の協力のもと、多摩川文献庫及び複数箇所での映像及び文献展示、閲覧場所の開設を計画している。その準備として、写真、文書等のデジタル化を進め、資料を分類、整理し、後年公開したいと考えている。特に近年、多摩川の漁撈、漁撈文化に関する膨大な文書、写真の提供を研究者（故人）から受けたことから、有効な整理と保存を目的とするデジタル化を行った。

We have collected visual materials, literature, etc. of Tamagawa River since 2000 and 2010, “Citizen’s Campaign Recording Tamagawa Riv. of the Year 2000” (The TOKYU Foundation for Better Environment, General Grant, 2000 and 2010.) In addition, we have carried out digitization of the collected old photographs and documents. (The TOKYU Foundation for Better Environment, General Grant, 2011.) Currently, we are planning to open a Reference Room and provide several places for exhibiting and viewing images and literature of Tamagawa River with the cooperation of Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Keihin River Office of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation, and the local residents' groups.

For this reason, we will advance digitization of the photographs, the documents, etc., classify and organize the materials so that we can make them open to public sometime soon. Especially in these last few years, as a researcher (deceased) donated us huge amounts of materials on the fishery and fishing culture of the Tamagawa River, we have digitized them to organize and preserve them more effectively.
