(1)底泥間隙水中の硫黄化合物のキャラクタリゼーション 中性還元環境下にある河口堆積物間隙水の中の硫黄化合物のなかではチオ硫酸イオンが悪臭物質発生の鍵を握る硫黄化合物として重要であるる (1) Characterization of sulfur compounds in interstitial water of the river bed: There exist sulfur compounds in interstitial water of estuarine sediments which is under neutral and reducing conditions. Among such substances, thiosulfate ions are the main cause of the occurrence of bad-smelling substances. (2) Other than sulfur compounds, sulfate ions and thiosulfate ions, hydrogen sulfide was detected in the interstitial water. Examination also indicated the existence of methyl hydrosulfide, dimethyl sulfide and polysulfide ions. (3) Vertical distribution of sulfur compounds in river sediment: Because of the activity of sulfate-reducing bacteria, the deeper the depth, the fewer the sulfate ions. The levels of thiosulfate and hydrogen sulfide reach their peak in the middle of river sediment. They are fixed as sulfides of iron at the bottom of river sediments. |
