湧水を水源とする野川の水量を維持するには湧水の保全・再生が求められる。野川の湧水は依然として保全の手を尽くさねばならない現状にあるが、その一方で、かつて実施されていた野川流域全域による湧水調査が途絶えている。東京都や自治体による調査も十分ではなく、問題状況がつかめていない。４０年前に行われた市民調査は１０年間にわたり継続されたが、これを再評価して継承することを目的に、今回の助成で野川流域の湧水地点を渇水期の春と豊水期の秋に水量、水質、周囲の植物、水生生物について調査をおこなった。また、これらの結果を回廊絵図として整理し、関係する自治体や市民団体等に配布し、情報の共有と今後の展開へとつなげる資料とする。

Spring water must be conserved and regenerated in order to maintain the water level in the spring-fed Nogawa River. While all possible means must still be employed to conserve the spring water of the Nogawa River, the spring water surveys that used to be carried out throughout the Nogawa River basin have ceased. Surveys by Tokyo Metropolitan Government and local municipalities are not adequate and do not grasp the extent of the problem. The survey by citizens first carried out 40 years ago was continued for 10 years. With the aim of re-evaluating and reviving this survey, we used this grant to conduct surveys of water levels, water quality, surrounding plants, and aquatic organisms at points where springs in the Nogawa River basin surface. We conducted these surveys during spring, which is the dry season, and during autumn, which is the wet season. We summarized the results in the form of a corridor map for distribution to relevant local governments and civic groups, with a view to sharing information and using it as material for further development of these activities in the future.
